Episode 6: Someone Needs To Take Charge

learn

Gender roles as defined for the last million years have opened up quite a bit in the last few decades. Women can be the bread winners, men can take on the domestic responsibilities and both can be equally convinced that they’re the sex that’s actually “in charge”. Yet for every new opportunity comes a new opportunity for confusion, especially in the realm of relationships.

In this episode, Holly and Ethan discuss whether or not it’s proper for women to approach men and for men to be approachable in terms of starting relationships, making the first move and initiating “monkey business”. Holly is worried that she appears desperate while Ethan is intimidated by the girl with the “bitch face”. Both get distracted with praising “Sex in the City” until they pull it together and do their best to come to a conclusion.

Episode 5: The One Where We Realize Virginity Is Sacred

learn

Being that Holly and Ethan have had a bit of experience with sexual themed relations, they had every intention of talking about how foreign the concept of “saving one’s self for marriage” was. The subject, prompted by Olympian Lolo Jones’ revelation of her own virginity, quickly takes a turn as both Holly and Ethan come to a shocking realization. Their conclusions eventually prompt a scientific study, one you’ll have to hear to believe. Will their lives change forever? Probably not, but it’d be quite interesting if they did.

Episode 4: Friend-zoned by a Paleo Muffin

learn

In this week’s episode, Holly and Ethan discuss the “friend zone“, a zone that sounds really cool but actually isn’t. Since both have been in the driver and passenger seat of the bus headed straight towards the friend-zone, they’ve decided to dig into the matter in hopes of preventing heartache and passive aggressive Facebook posts. Holly takes a direct approach when dealing with the friend zone while Ethan ends up sounding like an asshole. Both come away better people (though it didn’t last long).

It’s worth noting that it was not our intention to release this episode three days before Valentine’s Day, though it did work out quite nicely that way.
