While dressing for the date (coffee, dinner, meeting relatives) is absolutely important and you both covered it well (blah Turtlenecks)…you definitely need to keep the person you’re meeting/dating in mind too.
When my girlfriend and I first met in person I was wearing an Avengers t-shirt (we met up at a dog park); and she told me (later) that when she saw that shirt she had a good feeling we’d work out.
